Who is a Caregiver?

A caregiver is defined as a person taking care of a sick, disabled or elderly person at home. The decision to be a caregiver is not one to be taken lightly. Although caring for someone can be rewarding, it can also affect your home and family life, your work and your free time. If a loved one has come to depend on you, you may have become a caregiver without realizing it and you need to decide if this is the best option for you. Caring at home may not be the right option for everyone and if you do reach this decision you should consult with your physician for alternative caregiving arrangmements.
